Words Cannot Explain...

How much I want these trainers. Jeremy Scott = Legend!

Jo Lawrence

Jo Lawrence has an exhibition at the V&A called Making Glover.
Making Glover is a stop frame animation, it looks really interesting and I'm contemplating going and checking out a few other exhibits in the process.

V&A:

Jo Lawrence was Digital Media Resident at the V&A between July and December 2008. During her residency Jo used the V&A collections as inspiration for her work. This display shows the creative journey that Jo took to make this film, from original research with V&A objects to the completed animation Glover.

Glover is a glove maker whose story is told in a stop-frame animation. The film integrates a masked actor as a human puppet with digitally animated glove puppets. Glover's story was inspired by the fusion of two sources of inspiration from the V&A's vast collection: a reproduction of the Ebstorf Map and a pair of ornate leather and satin gloves (1600).

GEEK

My Acrylick clothing FINALLY came so I can FINALLY start my photoshoots for my print campaign. Pretty chuffed with the clothes.. apart from the £22 customs charge I had to pay. I obviously had to try it all on, the mens tees are massive but nothing rolling up the sleeves won't sort out. The girls tees on the other hand are teeny.. it's a good job my models are thin, or I'd have to starve them!

Geek: I've become rather attached to the Acrylick New Era hat AND I'm sure I'll receive a few lady sovereign comments at uni...

British Music Experience

As well as writing several essays, preparing for a presentation on gender policy (fun), applying for work experience AND working on my practical project I am also working on the British Music Experience YCN brief.

It's cool because it's pretty much an open brief platform wise. I've been working on it with my friend Mike whose really good on the graphics side of things. We have come up with an idea for an animation involving a domino effect. Flash goes above my head completely (I like to think of myself as a creative thinker) so hopefully Mike will be able to take my idea and turn it into something.. if not...it was a nice idea!

Idea Shop

Last month Ogilvy set up a pop up service in Brixton where small businesses could get free advice on how to advertise themselves. I'm sure they'll receive a few awards for this one...

Case studies are available to look at on their website
You can also follow them on Twitter

Work Experience & All That Jazz

Here's a preview of my packs I'm sending to some creatives to hopefully get some work experience over summer. They consist of:
My CV printed onto three A6 post cards
Two Kate Moross designed business cards
Six cheeky stickers
Personal Message
Funky Envelopes

The colours, designers etc are a pretty accurate reflection of myself so hopefully I'll get someone interested. It's crunch time really.. I'm waiting to hear about the Masters Degree I've applied for but if I'm not successful in getting onto the course I've gotta get all the experience I can.

Phillips

Creative Review:

"Philips is building the hype around its new advertising campaign, Parallel Lines, by releasing a teaser online...

Following the hugely successful Carousel interactive film, the new campaign features five short films created by five different RSA directors: Greg Fay, Johnny Hardstaff, Hi-Sim, Carl Erik Rinsch, and Jake Scott. While the five films will be diverse - the trailer above indicates how varied the film styles alone will be - they are apparently thematically linked, although Philips and the ad agency behind the campaign, DDB London, is currently keeping this theme under wraps. As in Carousel though, the campaign clearly aims to emphasis the cinematic quality of Philips' TV sets."

Neil Dawson
, one of the Art Directors behind Carousel and the new five short films, came into talk with some of us at university two weeks ago. He was a real inspiration and I will be eagerly awaiting the release of these new short films. You can keep up to date via the Facebook page..
